Happy Friday, everyone! I am so thrilled about this coming weekend, because it is the celebration of my favorite holiday: Halloween! Bet you guys didn’t see that one coming, did ya? Despite the fact that Halloween is on a Wednesday this year, all the good parties will be going down tonight and tomorrow. If you are stumped on what to wear, do not despair. Get some inspiration from what is already in your closet and buy a couple accessories to complete the ensemble! It might not win a costume contest, but at least you won’t be the lame-o without a costume.
Just for kicks and giggles, I included a couple great theme songs to go with each costume. Happy Halloween weekend!
This year, my original costume was going to be the simple “witch.” You don’t have to wear all black and warts to pull off the look, either. In my closet, I found a long, flowing black shirt and a sexy purple corset top that I purchased at Goodwill a few months back.
Pair them with:
- Witch’s hat
- Striped socks (if you are an Oz fan like me)
- Some sexy witch-style makeup
Go put a spell on somebody this weekend. You know what I am talking about!
Match up a red dress or red shirt with black pants with:
- Devil horns
- Pitchfork (if desired for poking people throughout the evening)
- Throw in some fishnets and red-hot pumps for a sexy touch
- Try this devil makeup tutorial
And you are ready to head down to Georgia. Of course, you know that’s total BS; Satan would never be caught dead in Georgia. It’s like…ohmyGod! Warning, you will have this song stuck in your head all day long.
This little beauty I threw together last Halloween for work and handing out candy afterwards. Very easy, and very cute. A modern day pirate!
The grey dress I got in London and the thick black belt I purchased in Virginia several years ago. The darn thing cost me $30, but I have gotten a lot of wear out of it over the years. Pair this ensemble with:
- Black boots
- Bandana or pirate hat
- Hoop earring
- Some great pirate makeup
Go pillage and plunder maties! Another great song that will get stuck in your head! Michael Bolton, go!
So, what are you going to be for Halloween this year?
