Wedding Wednesday: We Are Lancaster

Today I had the pleasure of touring the newest wedding venue in Lancaster County.  It’s actually located in Van Wyck: The Ivy Place.  Situated just off highway 5 in Van Wyck, this tucked away southern secret is quite the charmer.  This is the third official wedding venue in Lancaster County.  I am going to do a brief rundown of the three, just for my Lancaster/Charlotte/Rock Hill brides.

The Ivy Place

Built in 1850.  Located in Van Wyck, SC.  Gorgeous wedding venue with ample parking, a barn, as well as a field to pick your own strawberries.  Get married on the patio in front of the southern front porch and take gorgeous photos in the gardens.

Kilburnie, The Inn at Craig Farm

Originally located in downtown Lancaster, this home was moved, “brick by brick” and restored just off Highway 521 in Lancaster.  Stay the night if you like in one of the many guest suites and enjoy a gourmet breakfast made special by the owner and host Johannes Tromp. I fell in love with this venue back in 2009 and I love to drive by it and gaze at its gorgeous exterior.

The Coker Ranch

The Coker Ranch

Located off Hwy 903 in Lancaster.  The Coker Ranch hosts weddings by a lovely pond.  I have attended a wedding here and it was absolutely wonderful.

What I love so much about Lancaster is that it is quite fruitful when it comes to older, Southern style homes with huge yards to host an intimate, elegant wedding.  If you would like any more information about additional venues in the Lancaster area, leave a comment below.  Have you had a wedding at one of these venues?  Brag on them a little!
